Next up on Soul Clap Records we introduce the debut release from our dear friend, Orio. Originally hailing from Israel, we met Orio on our travels through Asia where he had set up shop in Singapore throwing the most epic events we’d ever experienced there. After an epic journey that led him to the creation of this Lost Dog EP, Orio’s moment has finally arrived and we welcome him aboard the Soul Clap Records mothership!

Orio’s trip in a nutshell...

“After living for almost a decade in Singapore I started playing around with the idea of going back home to Israel. I flew to Hong Kong for what was supposed to be a little break to clear my head, but then came Covid19… That’s how I started my journey back home, my little time out turned into a year and half of inspirational and productive sessions with awesome musical people in Hong Kong, a cool place to get stuck in!

Luckily, I met up with Sean Rogers who has an amazing studio right next to Sheung Wan Station and we ended up spending most of the quarantine together and he introduced me to the world of music production. While walking around on a manic day in Mong Kok where some extremely emotional protests were going on, I was drawn to this couple I saw playing jazz next to the train station, Misha and Oksana, we immediately connected and I invited them to Sean’s studio. Then I contacted Amos Ang, a very gifted Singaporean Keyboardist I’ve preformed with before, and asked him to join us. Sean added another two brilliant talents to this collective we were unexpectedly building up, Achlin Achlino on the guitar and Charles Tidal II on the bass. And so, before we knew it, we were on our way to making crazy Corona times into just crazy fun times.

We all got a little lost in 2020, it was trippy, yet I feel like I’ve also found myself in the process, very grateful for my soulful partners. I’m back in Tel Aviv now, like a lost dog that made its way home. Hope you dig the sounds. Woof!”
